Margaret (Maggie) is a Maasai from Narok county. She considers herself one of the lucky girl children of her community to have gotten a rare opportunity to receive modern education and escape the negative practice of Female Genital Mutilation (F.G.M), a violation that affects eighty percent of young girls and is still being practiced.She is now working as an advocate against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and forced early marriages, campaigning to educate needy Maasai girls. She has initiated Oldarpoi School in Maasai Mara, which is giving young girls from her village an opportunity to explore their potential.Margaret is passionate about mentoring and empowering her community women since she strongly believes women are the back born of the society and thus when you educate/ empower a girl you empower the whole community. She enjoys travelling and reading motivational books.
