Peter Gross is responsible for the African portfolio of MicroEnsure, which currently serves three million low-income customers in seven countries with a range of insurance products that are tailored to the unique needs of the mass market. Peter began working with MicroEnsure in Ghana in 2010 and directed the company’s growth into alternative distribution channels. Under his leadership, MicroEnsure Ghana grew from 20,000 to 800,000 active customers in less than two years and launched several innovative products that doubled the coverage of the Ghanaian insurance industry in their first year, setting an important precedent for financial services delivered at scale. Prior to his career with MicroEnsure, Peter worked for a large private firm in the United States, managing a variety of divisions including sales, marketing, logistics, and HR. He holds degrees from Oxford University, Emory University and Davidson College.
