Maria Fernanda Betancourt

Managing Director, Impact Hub Kigali

Maria Fernanda is from Quito, Ecuador, and is currently based in Rwanda, working as the Managing Director of Impact Hub Kigali, an innovation lab and co-working space supporting early-stage entrepreneurs and innovators. She has over seven years of experience designing and managing projects on sustainable development, ICTs, and entrepreneurship. 

Before this, she worked for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research and the International Telecommunications Union in Geneva, Switzerland. Maria Fernanda is an UNLEASH talent, who participated at the 2018 Global Innovation Lab to co-create SDGs related solutions. She is also a Chevening Scholar and holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK). She is passionate about social entrepreneurship and interested in promoting human-centered design methodologies and tools to create social impact. As an Amani Fellow, she wishes to gain more leadership skills and be better positioned to lead purpose-driven teams.
