Leila Chepkemoi Kangogo

Program Manager, Founder at Safe Spaces

Leila Kangogo was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She identifies as an Afro Feminist and strongly believes in the phrase, 'If not me, who? If not now, when?'
Leila founded an Afro feminist blog which created an online community seeking to redefine feminism through an African lens. She also runs a program called Safe Spaces which amplifies the voices and issues of young women and girls' through themed events.

Professionally, Leila has experience working in the startup scene and with NGOs mostly inprograms and research. Leila holds a BSc in Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is also a YALI fellow. As a changemaker, Leila strives to continue to create platforms that amplify the voices and issues of young women and girls.
