Mia is Co-Founder of Tenkie Box Concepts, Inc. – a distribution and retail company of premium active-lifestyle products in the Philippines. Last January 2015, she started volunteering with All Hands Volunteers in response to Typhoon Haiyan in the province of Leyte. While volunteering, she saw first-hand the importance of being there for others and the direct impact of their work on the community. The experience was so transformative that it pushed her to take a step back from the private sector to learn more about the world around her and hopefully pursue a career in development. Mia dreams of a world where there are equal opportunities for all. Through this program, she aims to develop skills to create and implement projects that will empower people who are most in need. Mia enjoys travelling, connecting with people from different cultures and learning new things. She is working on a personal photography project called “Make No Strangers”, which is a series of portraits from people all over the world. She also loves to sing.
