Nicholas Balongo Busera

Balongo’s entry into development work was coincidental, when he quit his career as an engineer to take a personal sabbatical to try and figure out what would give him greater fulfillment. He then went on to launch the Kuruka Maisha Foundation, which uses artistic development training and mentoring as a tool for social integration of street kids. His latest venture is Africa Adaptation Village - a start-up developing a low carbon enterprise model to address climate change impacts in rural Africa – which continues his quest to innovatively deliver opportunities for the excluded through enjoying a sense of self in pursuit of their own human potential.
