Laura Nogueira

Born and raised in Galicia, Spain Laura received a scholarship at age 16 to study at an international school in Hong Kong. There she had the chance to become part of a global education movement (United World College) that focuses on peace and a sustainable future. She has since lived in the US, China, Switzerland and Lao PDR. In 2011 she completed her Master’s Degree in International Relations and moved to Lao PDR where she interned for a UN regional anti-human trafficking unit. Since then she has worked in the field of development with INGOs, local organizations and the World Bank. She is especially interested in the field of education and gender empowerment and is eager to learn how to make an impact through innovative and sustainable approaches to social challenges. She loves spending time with friends and family, reading and doing sports.
