Maria Laura Cassiano

Cultural diversity is one of the most important pillars to growth and learning processes in Laura’s life. Born to a family of Italian and Lebanese immigrants, she was raised in São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world. She has extensive volunteering experience since childhood in nurseries, nursing homes, holiday camps, and NGOs.

She finished her BA in Business in 2014 at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. From 2011 to 2015 she worked at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the financial area, providing business support to Corporate Banking. Here she learned how to run projects of high complexity, optimizing time resources and increasing the department’s productivity. She was awarded a bronze award for her efforts. In 2015, she took on a Senior Marketing Analyst role at Whirlpool Corporation where she worked in the Air Treatment sector and developed its Marketing Campaign.

In 2016 Laura began volunteering at Consulado da Mulher, an initiative for women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship. There she nurtured her passion for education and social entrepreneurship and decided to transition her career to do work with social impact.

Laura loves music, reading, riding her bike, and traveling to learn from different cultures, and believes every individual has the power to transform.
