Last week was a huge milestone for all of us associated with the Amani Institute. We welcomed our first group of students to Nairobi and began the course with a “walking safari” in the gorgeous Crater Lake Game Sanctuary followed by 3 days of training on Bio-Empathy (using nature as a source of inspiration for innovation and personal development).

Already, two of our students have written blog posts about their experience. Click here to read Ahmed’s post and here for Wilson’s post, and here for pictures!

Later in the week, we had our first in-class session, followed by a ‘Social Innovation Happy Hour’ in our brand-new home/training space/office – which was the first time we opened our doors to our partner organizations and friends in Nairobi. It was great to see so many friendly faces and new connections forming as different networks mixed and mingled. So check out the pictures below to get a feel for our new home. And if you are in Nairobi, come visit!
