Open Session: Scaling Social Enterprises

The idea of scaling is one that social entrepreneurs often find themselves thinking about as they embark on their social impact journey. It arouses questions such as ‘how do I know if we are ready for the scale?’, ‘what are the things to consider when preparing to scale?’, ‘are there other ventures like mine that have scaled successfully?’.

Come join us at the Amani Institute for an evening of conversations and perspectives on Scaling Social Enterprises with Paula Cardenau, an entrepreneur, author, teacher and social business adviser.

Paula has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years in the impact innovation field in Latin America and at a global level. She is the Co-Founder and Director of Njambre.

During the over 10 years in Ashoka as Director for Southern Cone and Latin America, in addition to her regular assignments, she was invited to teach Social Business and Social Entrepreneurship in various universities including Notre Dame University and Georgetown University, among others.

She has served as a board member in several institutions such as RedActivos, The Working World, Fundación para la Integración Social Oscar Alvarado, Espacio de Negocios Inclusivos de la Universidad Di Tella. She was also part of the funding team and implemented participatory assessment processes in Argentina’s Social Investment Fund, a World Bank-funded government program which stimulated community-based, demand-driven initiatives in extremely low-income rural districts in Argentina.
